The 63,500 square foot structure features dramatic geometric forms encased in sweeping standing seam copper roof planes, large expanses of glass curtain walls or exterior walls clad in either Jerusalem stone masonry or copper wall panels that, all together, required complex structural steel framing be constructed for support. The interior spaces have equally exquisite maple millwork and interior finish details, especially in the chapel space, where intricate paneling covers the vertical lift doors and the ceremonial Ark. While we oversaw all aspects of the project as Construction Manager, we also self-performed sitework, concrete foundations and flatwork, rough and finish carpentry, and many aspects of the interior finish work for this $13.2 Million project. The more recent Park Synagogue expansion project consisted of a 10,000 SF building addition to the existing facility and reconfiguration of approximately 15,000 SF of existing space. Through this effort, improvements to the campus now include an enlarged sanctuary (which doubled in size for Shabbat and holiday services), construction of a chapel, a new reception area, connecting corridor, restrooms, additional spaces for services/celebrations in the new Family Community Hall and the veranda (a pavilion outside the new community hall) allowing for services or events to take place all year long – indoors or outdoors. The installations on this $15 Million project required precise detail and careful coordination between the design team, construction manager, façade contractor, fabricators and field installers.
