Adelbert "Chip" Marous
CEO/President
For over four decades, Adelbert “Chip” Marous has been at the helm of Marous Brothers Construction, the company he and his brothers founded and grew from humble beginnings into one of the most respected names in the industry. Under his leadership, the company has surpassed $3.5 billion in revenue and expanded to a team of more than 350 employees, all while fostering a family-like atmosphere.
Chip’s leadership is marked by visionary thinking, strategic planning, and a deep commitment to the development and well-being of his team. He believes in investing in employees’ growth through initiatives like Marous University and supporting extracurricular committees focused on outreach, wellness, and sustainability. His hands-on leadership style includes annual strategic planning, regular 1-on-1 meetings, and continuous improvement through offering business coaching and development courses.
Starting as a carpenter hanging doors, Chip’s journey spans across countless projects and initiatives. He has implemented six Building Groups within the company to support horizontal growth and continues to lead by example, guiding growth through strong values and innovative strategies.
Inspired by his father’s sage advice, “do it right, or don’t do it at all,” Chip has remained steadfast in his pursuit of excellence, both in business and in life. As he continues to lead Marous Brothers Construction to even greater heights, Chip Marous serves as a shining example of integrity, leadership, and philanthropy in action.

Douglas Richardson
Vice President, Operations
With 17 years at Marous Brothers Construction (MBC) and 5 years as Vice President of Operations, Doug Richardson plays a pivotal role in overseeing all of our operating groups, as well as business development, purchasing, and legal departments. A former General Manager of both the Design-Build Group and all Building Groups, Doug has advanced through key leadership positions, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in construction and operational management.
A 10-year Army Veteran, Doug has spearheaded numerous strategic initiatives that have significantly contributed to MBC’s growth. His expertise spans leadership, strategic planning, construction management, value engineering, project implementation, contract negotiation, and financial forecasting. His leadership extends beyond operations, mentoring teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring that each project is completed to the highest standards.
Dougl holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering from Point Park University and a Master of Engineering in Construction Engineering Management from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional through the US Green Building Council (USBGC) and has undertaken extensive leadership training with programs such as Leadership Lake County, CliftonStrengths®, and Birkman courses.
His impressive project portfolio includes landmark projects like Gibson Plaza in Washington DC, Book Cadillac in Detroit, the Westin Cleveland Hotel, and Porsche Beachwood in Cleveland, OH. Doug also leads key company-wide initiatives such as system migrations, software platform deployments, and the development of training programs to ensure the continued growth and efficiency of Marous Brothers Construction’s operations.

Massimo Carmosino
Chief Financial Officer
Massimo Carmosino is the Chief Financial Officer at Marous Brothers Construction, where he has led our company’s financial strategy for the past 7 years. In this role, Massimo oversees all financial operations, ensuring efficient resource management and driving the financial success of the company.
With a background that provided him with extensive experience in finance, accounting, and strategic planning, Massimo has honed his ability to optimize financial performance, streamline processes, and support large-scale projects. His analytical skills and financial acumen play a critical role in guiding Marous Brothers Construction’s continued growth.
Massimo holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cleveland State University, making him a valuable leader in the company’s financial and operational success.

Arne Goldman
Director of Business Development
As the Director of Business Development at Marous Brothers Construction, Arne is responsible for leading his team in identifying, evaluating, and closing new business partnerships and opportunities. His financial and geopolitical expertise is instrumental in assisting clients with structuring complex, multi-tiered transactions. Arne holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and is a registered architect in seven states, including Ohio, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. He is NCARB certified, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He also serves on the Board of Trustees for LAND Studio and the Board of Directors for AIA Cleveland. With over 40 years of experience in the development, design, and construction industries, Arne Goldman has successfully led numerous projects, including the Westin Cleveland, Park East Synagogue, and University of Toledo Honors Academic Village, among many others.

Joel Maas
Director of Marketing
Joel Maas is the Director of Marketing at Marous Brothers Construction, delivering nearly 20 years of expertise in marketing, branding, and communications. A seasoned leader in crafting impactful messaging and providing creative direction, Joel has a proven track record of driving integrated PR, digital, and social media strategies that enhance brand visibility and engagement. His comprehensive experience spans multiple B2B sectors, including commercial construction, real estate, and private equity.
Joel’s strategic approach to go-to-market initiatives and communications has made him a critical asset to Marous Brothers Construction, where he leads all marketing & branding efforts, and cultivating meaningful connections with clients, partners, industry, and internal stakeholders. Joel holds a Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia University, as well as advanced continuing education certificates from the American Marketing Association in Strategic Brand Management and Aligning Sales with Marketing.

Brad Buescher
Director of Human Resources
Brad Buescher serves as the Director of Human Resources at Marous Brothers Construction, bringing over 15 years of diverse experience in HR, IT, and operations management. With a forward-thinking approach grounded in operational expertise, Brad excels at aligning the needs of employees, corporate functions, and operations to create a cohesive and strategic focus that drives success for all stakeholders. His business-oriented mindset and dedication to teamwork make him an invaluable leader in cultivating a positive and high-performing workplace culture.
Passionate about continuous improvement and committed to exceptional customer service, Brad leads with kindness, collaboration, and innovation—qualities that align seamlessly with Marous Brothers Construction’s core values. Nick Marcuse
General Manager of Construction Management Group
Nick Marcuse is the General Manager of Construction Management at Marous Brothers Construction (MBC), where he has spent over 21 years mastering the art of construction management. Having held key roles such as Project Engineer, Superintendent, Project Manager, and Director of Construction, Nick has been pivotal in expanding the company’s geographic footprint, particularly through his work with clients like Penske Automotive Group. One of his most notable accomplishments is securing and leading the PRF McCormick and 3rd Student Housing project, one of the largest contracts for Marous Brothers Construction CM Group.
Nick’s expertise spans high-rise buildings, historic renovations, multifamily housing, and hospitality. His deep knowledge of construction methodologies, including structural steel, concrete, wood framing, and prefabricated components, allows him to deliver creative solutions across various sectors. Nick has led major projects like the Westin Book Cadillac, Park Synagogue, and Belle Oaks Mixed Use Development, and he has been integral to MBC’s corporate training programs. Known for his leadership, Nick actively coaches his teams, ensuring excellence across the board. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cleveland State University and is OSHA 30 certified.

Jared Freeman
General Manager of Design-Build Group
Jared Freeman is the General Manager of the Design/Build Group at Marous Brothers Construction, a position he has held since October 2019. He began his career in January 2001 as a Project Engineer, working on the Marshall Place Apartments in Cleveland. Over the years, he progressed through various roles, including Project Manager and Director of Construction, all within the Design-Build sector. Jared managed has overseen significant projects such as the $47 million Westin Cleveland Renovation and the $36.5 million Case Western Reserve University North Residence Hall.
Jared’s extensive experience spans managing pre-construction and construction projects ranging from $10,000 to $50 million. His expertise covers new constructions, renovations, historic renovations, commercial projects, multi-family projects, demolitions, medical facilities, and hospitality projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Bowling Green State University and has completed various professional certifications, including LEED GA, Crucial Conversations, and OHSA 30 Hour. Jared’s robust career and proven leadership in the Design-Build industry highlight his ability to successfully manage complex and high-value projects.

Douglas Hart
General Manager of Multi-Family Housing Group
Douglas Hart is the General Manager of our Multi Family Housing group at Marous Brothers Construction and oversees senior staff and manages the financial and client relationship aspects of his operating group. He brings extensive experience in construction management, having led numerous large-scale projects such as Woodhill Station, Westwood Hill Center, East Vassar Village, Hough Heritage Senior Housing, and Waterford Bluffs. His leadership has been instrumental in ensuring the smooth execution of preconstruction and construction services, ensuring both quality and efficiency in each phase of the project.
Douglas holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Bowling Green State University, reflecting his deep expertise in the field. His diverse portfolio demonstrates his commitment to excellence and his strong ability to manage complex projects from planning through completion. His accreditations and hands-on experience make him a key figure in driving success and maintaining solid client relationships here at Marous Brothers Construction.

Jeff Marous
General Manager of Special Projects Group
With over a decade of hands-on experience in the construction industry, Jeff Marous began his career as a Journeyman Carpenter in 2006, laying a solid foundation in craftsmanship and construction. His commitment to excellence was soon recognized, earning him the prestigious Build America Award in 2009 and a finalist position in the 2011 Build Ohio Awards. These accolades are a testament to his expertise and dedication, which have been the cornerstones of his successful journey in project and operations management at Marous Brothers Construction. His proficiency extends beyond technical skills, encompassing strategic planning, decision-making, and team building, making him a natural leader in the industry.
In addition to his professional achievements, Jeff is dedicated to continuous learning and self-improvement. He holds multiple certifications, including OSHA 510, and has completed Dale Carnegie Training, which further enhances his leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. His commitment to understanding individual strengths is evident through his certification in CliftonStrengths, which he leverages to guide and influence others effectively. These qualifications, combined with his practical experience, equip him with the tools necessary to lead projects to success while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Scott Marous, Jr.
General Manager of Carpentry & Interior Finishes Group
Scott Marous Jr. has dedicated his entire career to the family-owned Marous Brothers Construction, where he has developed a comprehensive skill set in both residential and commercial construction. Starting in 2001 as a Union Carpenter, Scott quickly advanced through the ranks, serving as a Foreman, Superintendent, and Project Manager, before taking on leadership roles as the Director of Field Operations and General Manager of the Carpentry and Interiors Group. In his current role as General Manager, Scott oversees the daily operations of the company’s largest business unit, with over 170 employees under his leadership. His responsibilities include managing all preconstruction and construction activities, ensuring business unit performance, and maintaining profitability.
Scott’s extensive experience includes leading significant projects such as the Ohio Caterpillar Dealership Office Renovations, the Case Western Reserve Student Housing project, and the Westin Hotel renovation in Cleveland. He is also deeply involved in trade union relations, company safety programs, and shop operations. Scott holds certifications from the Project Management Academy at Clemson University, OSHA, and the Dale Carnegie public speaking course. His commitment to excellence and strong leadership make him an invaluable asset to Marous Brothers Construction.

Jason Smith
General Manager of Site Group
With an impressive 19 years of experience, Jason Smith brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his role as General Manager of the Site Group at Marous Brothers Construction. Jason has a proven track record of delivering successful, large-scale projects while maintaining an unwavering commitment to excellence. His role is pivotal in ensuring that every site project is executed with precision, efficiency, and the highest standards of quality.
Jason works closely with project managers, superintendents, estimators, and scheduling teams to align project objectives and foster seamless coordination. From overseeing contract development and negotiating scopes of work to tracking budgets and guiding projects to on-time completion, Jason leads with a meticulous focus on delivering outstanding results for clients. His hands-on leadership and deep understanding of the construction process make him a driving force behind the company’s success.
In addition to his extensive project experience, which includes notable works such as Hearthside Grove, Lorain Diked Disposal, Kenston Wind Turbine, and CPP Southern Transmission Lines, Jason’s professional development includes completing OSHA 30, Dale Carnegie Leadership Training, and Gallup/Clifton Strengths Training. These certifications underscore his dedication to safety, leadership growth, and team development, allowing him to inspire those around him while continuously advancing the Site Group’s operations.
